Advanced Summerdance Program; 4 weeks, 6-Day Program

This level is for current Junior 5C/Senior 1 & Senior 2 dancers. An audition is required if student is not currently enrolled at MDT. Curriculum may include: Technique, Pointe, Contemporary, Variations, Pilates Mat, Jazz, Cross-Training, Hip-Hop and Repertoire Rehearsal. This program also includes Master Class Saturdays with guest instructors each week.

Intermediate C Summerdance Program; 4 weeks, 5-Day Program

Junior Summer Program; 2 weeks, 5-Day Program

June 17 - 28, Monday - Friday, 1:00 - 5:00pm - In-Studio Demonstration Friday, June 28, 2024 at 4:00pm

This program is for current Junior 1-3 dancers. An audition is required if student is not currently enrolled at MDT. Curriculum may include: Technique, Contemporary, Hip-Hop/Jazz, Pilates Mat, Musical Theater, Character and Repertoire Rehearsal.

Additional Summer Programs

Junior Performance Workshop

July 22 - August 3, Monday - Friday, 4:00 - 6:00pm - San Rafael Campus

$400

This program is for current Junior 1-3 dancers. This workshop is a wonderful 2-week experience of dance, choreography and rehearsals culminating in a theater performance with the upper division levels of Marin Dance Theatre. This is a great option for those Junior dancers who love to perform. Dancers can participate in this workshop on its own or in conjunction with the 2-week Summer program in June.

Junior Classical Workshop - Giselle

August 5 - 9, Monday - Friday, 9:30am - 2:00pm - Corte Madera Studio

This program is for current Junior 2-4 dancers. Our Junior level classical workshop provides an opportunity to enhance your dancer's training and repertoire while learning about the famous classical ballet Giselle. Each day will include stretch & strength and ballet technique class. Dancers will discuss the classical ballet story, watch pieces of company performances and variations, and learn about stage characterization through performance and technique. Dancers will be exposed to appropriately modified versions of famous variations danced in the ballet - a first introduction to "variations class." Join us for this exciting classical workshop opportunity.

For all the above programs, current students are placed by faculty and new students are placed by audition. The above levels will be offered based on enrollment and are subject to change. Participation in Summerfest 2024 is optional for the Junior A & B levels and requires an additional fee based on student’s level. To register for an in-person studio audition, please contact our Administrator at billing@mdt.org. MDT will not be arranging housing for out-of-town dancers for Summer 2024.
