Grown-Up and Me classes offer a nurturing and encouraging environment for your child's first introduction to the art of dance. Classes will be taught by MDT faculty specializing in early childhood education.
Our Introduction to Dance classes provide a wonderful environment for your child's first introduction to the art of ballet. Children ages 3 & 4 years will experience the imaginative world of dance, independent from their parents, through rhythms, music, and creativity. This class will include stretching, activities to develop coordination and musicality, and creative expression.
Our Pre-Ballet classes offer an engaging environment for your child to discover the joy of dance. Children ages 5 & 6 years will experience the imaginative world of dance through rhythmic and spatial patterns, music, and creativity. Classes are taught with the aim of supporting the development of the full child while facilitating a love for dance. The Pre-Ballet program will include stretching, introductions to basic technical steps, activities to develop coordination and musicality, across the floor work, and creative expression to movement through music.
At the Elementary levels, students ages 7 & 8 begin to connect their creative foundation of movement to a more focused and structured Elementary program. Students will be given the opportunity to develop initiative and passion for the art of dance through classical training. Elementary classes will start to focus more on technique and correct body placement, incorporating more technical work at the barre, and introducing the classical structure of a ballet class in an engaging and encouraging environment.
